Opulence Studio, a salon and spa interior

A full-floor salon and spa on the first floor of a building in Andheri, Mumbai. The brief was a calm, high-end space where clients move from a welcoming reception into a sequence of quieter treatment rooms, with staff areas kept out of sight.

Reception concept: a fluted curved desk, backlit circular logo panel, floral ceiling feature and lilac sofa
Reception: a fluted, curved desk under a floral ceiling feature, with the backlit logo as the first thing a client sees.
Treatment room concept: four massage beds set against arched niches with green botanical panels
Treatment room: beds aligned to arched niches with botanical panels, lit from a soft cove above.

Concept

The idea is modern opulence where minimalism meets richness. Soft neutrals and gold accents set a luxurious base, greenery and organic forms keep it from feeling cold, and ambient light ties the rooms into one serene experience.

Lounge and styling area concept.
  • Soft neutral palette

Warm beiges, creams and earthy tones, lifted by restrained gold detailing.

  • Organic forms

Arched niches, curved furniture and fluid ceiling profiles soften the floor plate's straight grid.

  • Ambient lighting

Hidden LED strips, backlit panels and diffused fittings keep glare away from clients lying back in treatment.

  • Zoning

Reception works as the statement space; treatment rooms sit deeper in the plan where it is quietest.

Programme

Spaces are arranged so that public, service and private zones layer from the entrance inward. Raised +150 platforms mark the treatment and wash areas off from the circulation floor.

    Design development

The project went through a full first scheme before the final set. Comparing the two furniture layouts shows how the plan was tightened.

    A leaner programme

Separate bridal, head spa, colour therapy and private rooms were consolidated into a hair treatment room and a dedicated makeup room, giving each remaining room a more usable size.

    Clearer front of house

Manicure and pedicure now share one zone beside a defined seating area, so waiting clients sit next to the activity instead of in a corridor.

    A fuller drawing set

The final set adds a reflected ceiling plan, a fire escape plan and internal elevations to the first scheme's nine sheets.
